The reality is simply that although Embassies overseas do their very best to advise on a broad spectrum of threats which encompasses all types of traveller/business.
On a recent visit to Lebanon on behalf of one of our clients we were asked to provide a risk assessment of a number of areas of which both the U.S. & U.K Embassies have graded as ‘Advise against all travel’. This creates the perception that Lebanon/Beirut is dangerous places to operate and this simply isn’t the case. By using our local contacts to provide us with reporting for number of weeks and a follow up visit from one of our U.K. consultants we advised our clients that the area was safe to operate as long as some simple safety precautions were implemented into their current security policy.
Our client has now instructed Augur Global to establish a base for their Lebanese operations.
